Please join us Thursday 10/17/19 from 6 - 8 pm in 403 Hayes Hall on the UB South Campus to view Matthew Sanford's new documentary by Andrew Walton, followed by a "virtual" question and answer session with Matthew. "Standing Still | Still Standing" is a documentary that captures the experiences of three people with medical conditions and disabilities as they learn yoga from Matthew Sanford, a paraplegic yoga instructor.

This screening is part of the UB inclusive Excellence "Year of Yoga for Every Body," and is co-sponsored by the UB School of Public Health and Health Professions, Department of Rehabilitation Science, the Student Occupational Therapy (OT) Association and Pi Theta Epsilon, the OT Honor Society.

Last week I completed reading "Waking: A Memoir of Trauma and Transcendence," Matthew Sanford's memoir, with the students I am working with this semester. This is the 22nd time I have read "Waking" with a group of students, and just like a yoga pose reveals different things each time you practice it, new things have been revealed each time a new group of students read "Waking." It has been such a wonderful experience working with Matthew all of these years, and this year having the OT students involved in bringing this powerful documentary to Buffalo prior to Matthew's visit to Buffalo in March 2020 has been an enriching experience.

We hope to see you all there to enjoy this wonderful film!
